Product notes, you can add as much oil capacity over the factory amount as you would like. It simply means you now have more oil to COOL down when it's HOT. Our goal was adding more capacity of oil over the factory pan but KEEP what oil we have in the pan UNDER CONTROL when the oil gets heat soaked. Under the truck air is very calm while moving, we took advantage of what of our machine capabilities can do for us and tapered entering and exiting air. Grabbing cool air as it enters the underside of the truck "absorbing the heat produced by engine and exhausting that heat through the back ramps off the pan. "Cool air in and hot air out over the pan and not around the pan.
